“A good portrait is more than a picture, it is meeting a person in a different way. Portraits are the main reason I started using a camera. My father was a painter and I was fascinated by his portraiture paintings, but since I was not good at drawing, I took up a camera. Portraits are a cross between bringing out the best in people – but at the same time the real, the honest and the personal. This is a portrait of who my father was.”
